Required Documents for Chauffeurs, Partners and Vehicles
What documents and information do I need to provide?
Chauffeur:

NI number (proof of ability to work in the UK)

Current home address (the address needs to match your Driving licence, PCO licence, PHV licence, and logbook)

Private Hire Driver licence (PHD/PCO):

The address on the vehicle licence, driving licence, and logbook must match if the chauffeur is the vehicle owner.

All four corners of the licence must be clearly visible in the photo or scan—no parts should be cut off.

When uploading a PCO licence, select the correct licensing authority on the dashboard (e.g., TfL, Hertsmere, Castle Point, etc.) and enter the licence number.

Driving (DVLA) licence.

Enhanced DBS Certificate or a proof of subscription for DBS Update service:

Enhanced DBS certificate not older than 3 years from the date it was issued, or
-
Proof of registration on DBS Subscription service (screenshot).

Document confirming English proficiency:
-
GSCE / A-Level / Bachelors / Masters / PHD degree — diploma or certificate, or
-
A certificate of completion for one of the following tests or exams, issued within the last five years:

IELTS
-
TOEFL
-
CAE/CPE/PTE, or
-

If you don’t have any of the required documents confirming English proficiency, a Wheely staff member will provide you with details of a free test you can take.
Please note: Minimum level of English proficiency for Business and XL class chauffeurs is level B1 and higher; for First and SUV Class chauffeurs — level B2 and higher.

Vehicle:

Logbook (or new keeper slip for 2 months from date of transfer. The address needs to match your Driving license, PHV, and PCO)

Insurance certificate

Private Hire Vehicle (PHV) license (the address needs to match your PCO, driving license, and logbook)

MOT (if a car is less than 1 year old from the date of the first registration, please upload a logbook instead of MOT with expiration date of 1 year from the date of the first registration).

Rental or leasing agreement (if partner is not registered keeper) or PErmission letter.
Partner:

Company registration number (if you applying as a legal entity)

Unique Tax Reference number (if you are self-employed)

VAT number (if applicable)

Registered address
-
Private hire operator licence (if you have one).
